Artist’s Statement
I am inspired by the small things, particularly the mushroom season in the Adirondack mountains. The colors, shapes and small creatures that accompany the mushrooms on the forest floor are captivating. One day while hiking I stumbled upon a pair of slugs eating a lace pattern into a mushroom cap and I asked myself "are these small lives really as simple as I thought?" Wanting to express my connection with nature I did what came naturally...I picked up my paintbrush and attempted to capture my curiosity into these small intricate worlds.
Project Local is held in partnership with the Lake George Arts Project. All art sales benefit the Artist, Caldwell-Lake George Library and the Lake George Arts Project.
